RMR Rehabilitation Begins Trial of The Shuffler®

At Trainor Jim Ltd, we’re always interested to see how The Shuffler® is used in different real-world settings. Recently, Rowan Morgan-Ruffley, Director of RMR Rehabilitation, shared that their team has begun trialling The Shuffler® with a number of clients.

The aim of the trial is simple: to explore how this seated movement device works in community rehabilitation sessions and whether it adds practical value for the people they support.

Testing The Shuffler® in Community Sessions

As part of the trial, one of the RMR trainers will be introducing The Shuffler® during community-based sessions over the coming weeks.

The focus will be on observing how it may support:

  • Everyday mobility
  • Lower-body strength
  • Confidence in movement

Particularly for individuals who may find traditional gym-based exercise or rehabilitation environments less accessible.

By using the device in real sessions, the team hopes to understand how it performs outside of clinical settings and how easily it can be incorporated into existing rehabilitation programmes.

Real-World Feedback

Rowan explained that an important part of the collaboration will be sharing honest, real-world feedback about the experience.

Rather than simply testing the device internally, the RMR team plans to document their observations through blogs and short vlogs, showing how The Shuffler® works in practice and how clients respond to using it.

This type of feedback is valuable because it reflects how tools like The Shuffler® function in everyday rehabilitation environments, rather than controlled demonstrations.

Exploring Practical Rehabilitation Tools

A key theme in Rowan’s post was the importance of exploring simple, practical tools that make rehabilitation more achievable outside of clinical spaces.

Many people benefit from approaches that allow them to build movement into community sessions or daily routines rather than relying solely on structured gym environments.

The Shuffler®, developed by Lee Trainor and Dr Jim Kelly, was designed with that principle in mind — providing a straightforward way to introduce seated lower-limb movement that can be used in a variety of settings.

Looking Ahead

We’re looking forward to following the RMR trial and learning from the experiences shared by Rowan and his team.

Their commitment to testing equipment in real rehabilitation environments will help provide valuable insights into how tools like The Shuffler® can support people working to rebuild movement and confidence.

As Rowan noted, they’ll be sharing updates along the way — and we’re excited to see what their clients think.
