FAQ's

What is the Trainor Jim Shuffler?

The SHUFFLER® is a seated exercise
device
developed for people with limited mobility, including older
adults, wheelchair users, and individuals in care settings. It enables safe,
gentle movement to support circulation and physical activity from a chair.

Whats in the Box?

Your SHUFFLER® box contains:

  • The SHUFFLER®, made up of two roller frames
  • A simple instruction leaflet to help you get started safely and easily

Everything you need to begin using the SHUFFLER® straight away is included.

Is the Shuffler a medical device?

The SHUFFLER® is exercise equipment and not a medical device. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or medical condition. If you have a health concern or existing medical condition, please consult a healthcare professional before starting any new exercise programme.

Has the Shuffler been evaluated in community trials?

The SHUFFLER® has been used in community wellbeing programmes and user trials exploring usability, enjoyment and functional movement outcomes. Larger studies are planned.

How often should I use the SHUFFLER®?

We recommend up to three 10-minute sessions per day, but it’s important to start slowly.

The SHUFFLER® engages muscles that aren’t always used regularly, so doing too much too soon can lead to soreness. Begin with shorter sessions and gradually build up over time as your strength and comfort improve.

Listen to your body, move at your own pace, and allow rest between sessions. If discomfort persists, reduce usage and seek advice from a healthcare professional.

My legs feel sore after using the SHUFFLER®. Is this normal?

Mild soreness can happen, especially when you first start using the SHUFFLER®. It works muscles that may not have been used regularly for some time.

We recommend starting slowly and gently, using the SHUFFLER® for short periods and gradually increasing the time as your body adapts.

If discomfort continues, stop using the SHUFFLER® and allow time for rest. If the problem persists or you have any concerns, please contact a healthcare professional before continuing.

How much space does it need?

The Shuffler is compact and designed to fit in front of a
standard chair. It can be used in care home bedrooms, lounges, or private
living spaces — no gym or setup required.

It’s also small enough to fit into a desk drawer, making it easy to store between uses at home,
in care environments, or in an office setting.

Is it suitable for regular daily use?

The SHUFFLER® is designed for gentle seated exercise. Most people can use it daily at their own pace, but if you have a medical condition or pain, please consult a healthcare professional.

Who is the Shuffler for?

Suitable for adults who want gentle seated exercise, including older adults, people with reduced mobility, or anyone wanting to stay active while seated.

Can I buy the Shuffler for my parent/loved one?

Yes. It is available for individual purchase directly
from our website. For bulk or B2B care home purchases, please contact our
procurement team.

Is it hard to use?

The Shuffler was designed in collaboration with a disabled
founder and an NHS GP. It requires no complex instructions. Many
users begin within minutes, and some report feeling the benefit
immediately after use
.

How do I try it?

You can:

  • Book a demo
  • Request a trial unit (for B2B/care providers)

Why is the Packaging Minimal?
